Your Consultation

Scheduling a lip lift starts with a comprehensive consultation with Dr. Timberlake. He will discuss your aesthetic goals, concerns, and expectations and evaluate your lips’ shape, size, and proportions. This thorough assessment ensures that the lip lift procedure is your best solution. Dr. Timberlake will also consider any chronic illnesses or conditions to determine if surgery is appropriate or if non-surgical mouth and lip enhancement methods such as fillers are better for you.

Once you and Dr. Timberlake agree on a path forward, he will design a treatment plan. Before you leave, our Patient Coordinator will help you schedule the day and time of your lip lift procedure and provide you with pre-operative instructions.

What to expect

What to Expect on the Day of Lip Lift Surgery

On the day of your lip lift in New York City, you will first meet with Dr. Timberlake and discuss your procedure again in case of any last-minute concerns. Depending on the agreed-upon treatment plan, You will receive either local or general anesthesia.

Dr. Timberlake will then perform the procedure by carefully placing incisions beneath the base of the nose or along the corners of the upper lip, depending on the correction he seeks to obtain. The incision will be hidden in the natural folds of the face to minimize visible scarring. He will then lift the mouth and remove any excess skin. Sutures will remain in place for approximately one week.

Lip lift surgery usually takes one hour.

After your lip lift surgery, our staff will monitor you in our recovery room until the sedation wears off if you receive any.

As you recover, giving your body time to heal is essential. There may be mild swelling and bruising around your lips, which will subside over the next few days. We encourage our patients to avoid strenuous activities for the first few weeks and follow the specific guidelines for eating, drinking, talking, and using the lips and overall mouth area.

Can I Combine a Lip Lift with Other Procedures?
